Tables Du Jour

Well Stef and I decided to try something new this year. Each year the Shrine puts on a fundraising event to raise money for the Shriners Hospital in Minneapolis. We attended the event last year at my mom's table and had a blast. So we thought, we could do this...We had so much fun designing our table, coming up with a theme and then the dinner we had with great friends and family.

This picture above is my mom's table that she did with Caludia. It's an Apple Orchard theme, doesn't it look great! She had apple plates and apples all around! The picture below is my Aunt Sharie's and Diane's table. It's a chocolate lovers table with a chocolate fountain in the middle!! I think I could have sat at this table all day and ate the fondue!

This brings us to our table! As you can see it's a baseball themed table. Go figure right, with my household having entirely too much baseball stuff in it, was pretty easy!!! Stef had all the plates and accessories for the table, I had the bats, balls, jerserys and such of course!!! haha.

Stef made the best popcorn cupcakes ever that were placed on top of the popcorn boxes for our dessert! They were so yummy, she is so creative! I wish I had 1/2 of what she does!!! It was so fun to spend the time with her doing this and to show off her creative side! We are signed up for next year already, so look out! haha

We got to wear jerseys ourself! Funny thing, I am an Anderson now, and she was prior to being Married! Love it! These were Brad's high school jerseys!

Pray For Gray

This was the first annual Pray for Gray event that my cousin Julie Fletcher put on. It's to raise money and awarness for the American Brain Tumor Association. Julie was diagnosed on 2007 with Stage 4 Brain Cancer. She has fought hard to win this battle and has done so in a great way, she is giving back! I am so beyond proud of her for being strong, courageous and giving during her battle. Which she is winning succesfully by the way!!! This event was an absolute gift to everyone that attended! Can't wait for the 2nd annual the others to follow! I love you Julie!!!

Julie and my very supportive and loving Aunt Sharie and Uncle Gary. They have done so much for Julie and the family.

My beautiful grandma and mother!

Me and the guest of honor. What an honor to be apart of such a wonderful event! Thank you Julie!

Me and Jami Jo!!! I have never had sister, but these 4 girls are it for me!! Love you ladies!

The entire Hegle clan! Aren't they beautiful people! Love you all and can't wait for next year!!!

First Days of School!

Grant was super excited about starting another year of school. Although we had to tell him he wasn't going to kindergarten this year like the rest of his classmates from last year. We made the decision being he just turned 5 in July that we were going to hold him back. It's something we know is going to help him in the end. They are in school long enough, and now that it's full day kindergarten, we wanted to give him 1 more year to be just a kid! He is fully enjoying it and we have extra work that the teacher gave us to keep challenging him which is working great!

The boys were both ready to go with their backpacks and as you can see Dylan was not too happy. He was upset cause he didn't go the same days as Grant. Grant goes Monday's and Wednesday's in the afternoon and Dylan goes the opposite days in the mornings.

I just love this picture! Dylan and Nora have known each other since birth and have gone to the same daycare up until this past April. Every time they see each other they give each other big hugs!!! Thankfully, Nora's mom Amanda is a stay at home mom now and picks Dylan up from daycare to bring him to school and brings him back after! We have been very lucky that she is willing to do this for us!!! Plus, the kids get to spend that much more time together! Maybe they could be future mates! haha!!

So, 1 month in and both of them love going to school and are doing very well! We hope this continues all the way to May!!! Grant will start K next year and Dylan will move to the 4 year old class as well! This mom sure doesn't like her babies growing up this fast though!

90 Years Young!

My beautiful, young grandma celebrated her 90th birthday on August 28th. We had a family party for all her friends and family. She was overwhlemed at the amount of people that came. She had over 250 guests come to help her celebrate! It was a beautiful day and all of the family was there, which is a good thing as seeing how 45 min into the party we ran out of food!~haha I hope we have many more birthday's to celebrate with you grandma! We love you!

2 of grandma's grandsons plant a kiss! Matt and Eric thought they were pretty funny!

Cousin Birthday Party

Sara's cousin Jami and her have been close cousins since they were little. So now that they each have kids of their own, of course we hope the same for our kids to have that same relationship. We try to get them together when we can for playdates and of course birthday's! Logan and Grant are just over a month apart and boy can you tell! We headed down to my Aunt Sharie's lake place for the birthday party!

I love this picture of the 3 of them sitting at their very own table eating their lunch!

Here is the group of cousins waiting for Logan to blow out his candles! Love this cake! It's a cowboy boot and it turned out fantastic! Tasted very good too!

Then the fun began! Uncle Gary put in a trampoline in the lake by the docks! The kids have never been on one before so I wasn't sure what they would do, but looking at the pictures, you never would have guessed it! They loved it and I had to drag them away when it was time to leave!!! This one it looks like they were all having a tough time standing back up!

Dylan and Olivia got their turn without the big kids to have some fun too!!! These 2 are so cute together!

Best of buds!!! Happy 5th Birthday Logan!!!!! Can't wait for the next party!!!

WeFest 2009

Well this year we decided to take some old jobs back and work Wefest. It had been a few years since we last worked and so we thought, why not see what it's like now. Well I must say, the music, people and volunteers were great, but the managers in our booth were not so great! But all in all we still had a fantastic time!!! Myself, my mom, my aunt Sharie and cousin Jami all signed up to work Thurs- Sat from 11-6. Perfect hours as we can see all the good shows at the end of the night!
Here is a group shot of cousins that came in on Saturday night to join us for the concerts. The beer is a little over $7 for 1 so we brought a cooler in and sat out by the car in between shows and drank much cheaper beer!

Jami, Matt, me and brad at the Taylor Swift concert! I had won 2 reserved seats the day before wefest so we took turns sitting in the chairs during her concert! She was so good too and the seats were only 8 rows back!!! We had so much fun!

Here is Taylor up on stage, I could only really get a good picture to turn out from the big screen. The stage was still a bit too far even with our camera to really see.

Brad, Jessica and Rien enjoying Saturday nights concerts! They came in about 6 to join us when we got off work to see Big N Rich and then Tim McGraw close out Wefest.

Tim McGraw....what more can I say!! hahah.

Well we are all looking forward to WeFest 2010 already and we have decided we will only work in our old booth where the managers are way more fun!!! Also we are hoping some other family members join us in working! We have a blast!

New cousin....Samantha!

Finally a girl to add to our families!!!! Samantha was born on August 5th and we couldn't be happier to have a niece! Sara finally has her shopping partner! hahah. Here is a picture of the newly family of 4!

Grant just loved holding Samantha. All i got from him though was why doesn't he have a sister. He got the same answer from me every time he asked, because honey you have a brother only!

Dylan really enjoyed holding his new cousin as well! So glad they were so good with her!

Night at the Redhawks game...

Well we look like we may be going to a Twins game, but instead, it was the Redhawks game and not one of us in the house has anything Redhawks to wear. So instead, we decided on wearing Twins stuff, it's baseball so that's good enough. Here are the boys getting all their gear ready for the big game!

Dylan being his silly ole self!

Grant enjoying the game with his rally hat!

Dylan watching intently on what was going on.

Brady was loving his popcorn, at one point he was 2 fisting it! Funny boy! But they all sure loved watching the game!!! We even made it to the end! First for everything huh!

Watercarnival

The Detroit Lakes Watercarnival was always something I looked forward to going to if we were in town when I was a kid. The parade, being right on the beach after and then swimming. What more can a child ask for! So we packed up the car and headed out early Sunday morning to get great spots for the parade. Little did we know they now have the bounce houses set up in the city park, just because there wasn't enough for the kids to already do that day! Grant loves climbing up and then going down the slides, so while we waited we let the boys have some fun! it turned out to be a gorgeous day as well!

Dylan doesn't seem to like noise too much, so as you can see, he sat like this most of the parade!

Here all 3 boys didn't like the sirens! But then they seemed to get used to it!

After all was said and done, we then took them swimming at the beach for a bit before packing up to head home! All 3 boys were exhausted, so our plan worked!

DAVE DAY!!

Well the day finally arrived, a day I had been waiting for since the day I bought the tickets. Dave Matthews came to MN finally!~! What a wonderful group of family/friends that went along for the journey!! Love all of these people! and we all share a love for DMB!!!

Here we are on the way to the concert!!!

Us girls out at the ranch waiting for the main show! I have to say, none of us knew what to expect at the 10KLF as we have never attened the festival before, but it was amazing. Everyone was pretty tame and just loved the music that was being played on all stages! Stef and I had plans to see him together about 4 years ago, but Brad ended up being my date. So glad she was able to be there this time!!!!

Dave on stage! We ended up with great spots to stand during his concert!!! Closest any of us had been to the stage when seeing him. In the past at his concerts we are pretty close to the back and he looks like an ant! Not this time!!! In the future, we will be seeing him outdoors!

More Dave on Stage!!! Gotta love it! Here is Matty, Amber and myself during the concert! What a great night it was out there!

Sporting our new shirts we bought after the concert!!! Don't you just love our pose! hahah

Post concert Nachos at Zorbaz! Yumm!! Troy and Brad were great drivers that night! Dropped us off and picked us up and brought us to get food!! Such great sports!

This was one of the best concerts I have seen and can't wait to plan our next trip to see him outdoors next year!!! Haven't decided, Wisconsin or Colorado yet! Stay tuned.....

Birthday Party!!!

Well the birthday's came and went and the boys had a great Party! It's great having them in July and only 5 days apart. At least for now that's the nice part!!! We set up the slip n slide for the kids to run on this year instead of the pool. They loved it!!! It's great to have all our friends and family come to help celebrate with the kids and after next year, I think we will have to do 2 parties as I don't see Grant wanting a party with his brother much longer!!!

The kids table, where all the fun is at!!!!

Dylan getting ready to blow out his candles on his baseball themed cake, imagine that! haha

Grant posing by his Cars cake. He really wanted Nascar, but settled for this. Maybe next year I will get a creative gene in me and make him a cake! ha, we will see!

Loved the frosting on the cupcakes! I'm sure all the parents did as it got everywhere and wasn't easy to come off!

Dylan and Nora, the bestest of friends!! Love this picture!

One of Dylan's favorite presents he got, a race car helmet that makes noises and lets him talk in the microphone!

The slip n slide was a huge hit with all the kiddos!!!

So here's another year in the books! Hopefully I can get one more combined party in before they demand their own!!!!
